Sept 21 - Thoughts from Katherine

Thoughts from Pastor Katherine

September 21st

There’s ton of exciting things going on among the families, children and youth ministry at First Christian Church of McKinney. It wouldn’t be made possible without a team of volunteers who make it all happen. We kicked off our Children’s Hand Chimes Choir this week to practice some safe music playing and kicked off JYF and Kingdom Kids after that.

We’ve had two exciting family and children events that have included pelting the new pastor with water balloons and bobbing for apples (everyone had their own container to bob in). I see friendships among families reigniting and excitement among the children as they come back to church after some time keeping a safe distance.

We’ve got a youth program that has been meeting person for a couple of months. Instead of singing our praise and worship, they have one by one been sharing in their favorite worship songs. This has been allowing them to share part of their faith with their friends at church in a new way.

I hope that you join in the celebration of our children and youth joining back together safely. Please keep these youth and children in your prayers as they go to school and balance the stress of the new ways with their education. I invite you to continue to pray for our church, our youth and children as they learn and discover in their faith.
