June 4 - Thoughts from Rev. Katherine

Thoughts from Pastor Katherine

June 4th

A Prayer for those who serve behind the scenes in ministry*

Remembering that you, Christ, came not to be served, but to serve humbly,

We give thanks today for those quiet and humble servants among us

They do not ask for praise, yet their quiet diligence helps us to praise you.

Because of them, our cups overflow with coffee, communion juice, and grace.

Our worship spaces are emptied of discarded bulletins and displaced pride.

In quiet and often imperceptible ways, they teach us what it means to love like you:

Not for any reward or glory, but for the pure joy of offering yourself for the good of all.

Bless these often-unnoticed disciples of the kitchen and classroom, the copy room, and garden.

We celebrate their contributions to this community,

Knowing that without them the body of Christ would not function as a complete and meaning whole.

With gratitude we offer this prayer to you, the servant of all.

Amen.
