June 16 - Thoughts from Rev. Katherine
Thoughts from Pastor Katherine

This week my heart breaks for our CYF as they are not at Disciples Crossing this week like planned. It is a true highlight of, not only their summer, but of their entire year. Many of them spent the last year planning this week as well as so many getting the first chance to lead their peers. So many of them feel such a connection to God on Holy Ground. Today I lift up in prayer, all the summer disappointments and all the missed opportunities.
The first part of the 2 Thessalonians passage really stuck out to me as we thank God for what we do have. We do have the opportunity to gather in small groups, we do have the opportunity to gather digitally and stay connected through phone calls, our daily “thoughts,” Zoom meetings, and Facebook posts. May we continue to find that courage to reach out, may we be encouraged through the good of health and connection every day. Amen.
2 Thessalonians 2:13-17 Common English Bible (CEB)
Prayer of thanks and encouragement~
13 But we always must thank God for you, brothers and sisters who are loved by God. This is because he chose you from the beginning to be the first crop of the harvest. This brought salvation, through your dedication to God by the Spirit and through your belief in the truth. 14 God called all of you through our good news so you could possess the honor of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold on to the traditions we taught you, whether we taught you in person or through our letter. 16 Our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father loved us and through grace gave us eternal comfort and a good hope. 17 May he encourage your hearts and give you strength in every good thing you do or say.
