June 23 - Thoughts from our Outreach Ministry

Outreach Ministry

Reaching Beyond Our Walls

During these difficult days with all the scary things going on in our community, our country and the world, it is good to remember that God is always with us and to recall His mighty right hand guiding us through our murky days to a brighter future.

At FCCM we are blessed to be able to assist different organizations with our mid-2020 donations, lend a helping hand and spread God’s love. Below is a brief list of groups we are helping:

Southwest Good Samaritans Ministries Christian

Church in the Southwest

Disciples Crossing Camp

Juliette Fowler Communities

Community Lifeline Center Community

Food Pantry of McKinney

Samaritan Inn

Brite Divinity Higher Education & Leadership Ministry

Week of Compassion Disciples Mission Fund

Family Promise of Collin County

Bethany Fellows

Please pray God will use these funds to feed the hungry, provide shelter and a safe home, care for the sick and lonely, provide hope for the discouraged, and give all impacted a comforting sense of His love and care. And please pray that the folks offering these services will be strengthened in their ongoing work to lighten the load of our struggling brothers and sisters.

As we continue with our social distancing, hand-washing, and safety measures let’s be heartened by this Hebrews 12 scripture:

“So then, with endurance, let’s also run the race that is laid out in front of us, since we have such a great cloud of witnesses surrounding us. Let’s throw off any extra baggage, get rid of the sin that trips us up, and fix our eyes on Jesus, faith’s pioneer and perfecter.” Hebrews 12

Daily Lectionary Readings, June 23rd:

Psalm 86:11-17; Genesis 25:12-18; Revelation 2:8-11

OR Psalm 6; Jeremiah 26:1-12; Revelation 2:8-11
