Dec 28th - Thoughts from Katherine
Thank you for celebrating Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and continuing to celebrate the 12 days of Christmas with us at First Christian Church of McKinney. Whether you watched from home or worshipped in our church house, we appreciate the ways we can be you community of faith in such a special time of year. We really do wish all the peace, hope, joy and love to you and your family.
With that being said, I encourage you to continue to live into the celebration of newness. There is no reason to stop celebrating the birth of Christ child. We anticipated it for four weeks, let’s make that all worth it. We celebrate Christmas for 12 days until Epiphany, which follows scripture of when the Magi visit baby Jesus.
I know what you are thinking: “I have to get on with my normal life?” I think there is something special about continuing to celebrate among our normal tasks, continuing to treasure the special as we do the normal. Taking time out of our ordinary what we look forward to but continuing to celebrate in our normal is particularly enlightening. May our ordinary become extraordinary.
