Children’s Ministry

What to Expect on a Sunday Mornings

Welcome! We are so happy that you are thinking about joining us on a Sunday morning. Please know that everyone, no matter what their age, is invited to join us in worship!

We have two worship services every Sunday morning, 9 am Contemporary Worship and 11 am Traditional Worship.  Children of all ages are invited to participate, sitting in the congregation with their parents and guardians.  In the 11 am Traditional Worship, children are invited to the front of the church for the “children’s moment,” to explore a devotion based the week’s scripture designed especially for kids.

During both worship services, a nursery is available for infants to age 4.

What to Expect Throughout the Week

Wednesday Nights at FCC

Come join us on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30 for fellowship, games, prayer, worship, service, or any combination of the above! We invite everyone who is in Kindergarden-5th grade to participate and bring friends! We focus on activities that will help us grow our relationships with each other, with God, and continue to grow in our faith and spirituality. We hope meeting every week will form lifetime bonds to each other and the church.

Summer Camps

During the summer, we attend a week-long camp at Disciples Crossing Camp in Athens, Texas. They offer Family Camps geared to the whole family or camps for children to attend on their own. For more information, you can check out their website at www.disciplescrossingcamp.org

Other Fellowship Activities Throughout the year, you will find us gathered together for seasonal activities such as:

  • Vacation Bible School where every summer we spend a few mornings together learning about God.
  • Fall Festival with costumes, games, & candy every last week in October.
  • Easter and Christmas, special times in the life of the church

Continue to check your email, sign up for our newsletter, and follow us on Facebook and Instagram to find out about these events.

Baptism

As a church affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) we follow the call of a believer’s baptism. This means that we baptize, by full emersion, adults and children when they are old enough to make their own choice to be baptized and understand the commitment of what it means to join the church. When an adult or a child feels ready to make this big decision in their life, they attend a “Discipleship Class” led by a minister. During this time, they also make their confession of faith to the congregation, and then are baptized in our sanctuary. We typically offer the class the weeks before Easter and the baptisms on Easter Sunday. However, we understand that God’s call in you may not align with this time frame, please see a minister of the church for alternate class schedules.
